support > donate to the "Walter Ordway Best of Fest Awards" Memorial Fund

As part of the memorial for Walter on Saturday night, March 7, 2015 we showed the John Chao film "Alchemy in Iowa, about the life of Walter Ordway. John Chao's description of the film:

Walter Ordway is an organic farmer from Iowa. He left home one day and vanished. All signs indicate he drowned trying to save his beloved dog Lewis, but authorities have not found his body. He was a sage, a wizard who has traveled over 100 countries in his days, whose presence can be transformational and absence...felt like an Alchemy in Iowa.

See the trailer here, and we hope to see you at the 2016 Festival.

Walter Ordway was reported missing and presumed drowned trying to rescue his beloved dog Lewis II in December 2014.  His body was found in March 2015, right after the Film Festival.

Walt was a major supporter, instigator, and inspiration for this film festival, and a number of his friends have expressed a desire to donate to a memorial endowment fund  that would continue Walter's past support of the filmmaker's reception, and in addition to that name the Best of Fest Awards after Walter:  The Walter Ordway Best of Fest Awards.  The budget for this is $1200 per year.  If we raise enough, it happens. If we don't, we'll let you know and you can make a decision at that point if you want a refund.

If you're interested in participating, you can donate an amount of your own choosing here using a credit card, through PayPal (where it says "DONATE").  It will be designated to go to the "Walter Fund".
